Teri is on the faculty of Rosen Method: The Berkeley Center, where she directs an educational program for Rosen Method interns and is a Senior Training Teacher. Teri studied Rosen Method with founder Marion Rosen, and has taught Rosen Method internationally.

She also is a faculty member at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, where she has taught Holistic Anatomy in the Integrated Yoga Studies Program and Lifelong Learning.

HOLISTIC ANATOMY: EXPLORING THE BODY’S BEAUTY, MYSTERY AND COMPLEXITY

TIME: 9:30am – 4pm (cadaver lab Saturday 3-5) 22.5 total hours

The human body is a complex, miraculous instrument of feeling, movement, expression and transformation. The connections and dynamic interrelationships among the 639 muscles, 206 bones, 10 billion nerve cells, and many organs provide a fascinating window of exploration of the human body and mind.

This unique workshop offers a multi-sensory approach to learning, incorporating cadaver lab, lectures, slides, movement, guided visualizations on anatomy, palpation, practical applications, as well as discussion and sharing of personal experiences. Functional anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and the mechanics of breathing are woven throughout.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of previous knowledge and experience with anatomy. The language of anatomy is accessible, meaningful and practical. This workshop is valuable as professional development, continuing education and personal growth.

Day 1: The psoas, pelvis, connections to the legs, walking, movement possibilities.
Day 2: The diaphragm; mechanics of breathing; how the body uses oxygen; working with the diaphragm.
Day 3: The shoulder complex, connections and relationship to the ribs, neck, spine, pelvis, chest, tongue and skull, movement possibilities, cadaver lab.
Day 4: Seven layers of back and neck muscles, viscera, muscles of facial expression, clinical applications, movement possibilities.
